On 23 September 2025, ICARDA will take part in the symposium “A Decade of Swedish–African Collaboration in Agricultural Science for Development in Africa,” held from 09:00 to 12:00 at Loftets hörsal, Campus Ultuna, Uppsala, Sweden. The symposium is one of two side events to the Agri4D 2025 conference hosted by SLU. The event will reflect on ten years of joint Swedish–African research partnerships that have advanced agricultural innovation, sustainability, and resilience across the continent.

The Forum on Fostering Interregional Collaboration on Sand and Dust Storms will be held on 7–8 October 2025 at the United Nations House in Beirut, Lebanon. Organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), with the support of the Government of Sweden, the Forum is part of the United Nations Decade on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (2025–2034)

World Water Week, organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute, is the leading global conference on water, bringing together researchers, policymakers, businesses, and civil society to explore solutions for a more water-secure future. ICARDA, together with FAO, CIRAD, the Ministry of Agriculture of Malawi, and AWSAMe partners, will convene a session on “Promoting Opportunity Crops towards the SDGs.” Dr. Krishna Devkota, Senior Scientist at ICARDA, will join a panel discussion to share evidence from ICARDA’s research and discuss how climate-resilient “forgotten” crops can be scaled into national strategies for food and water security.
