World Future Energy Summit
As part of the World Future Energy Summit, hosted by MASDAR , the Water Conference will take place on 14 and 15 January 2025, at the Abu Dhabi National exhibition Center (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi. This event will bring together an esteemed line-up of speakers, including government representatives, project owners, developers, researchers, and engineers from around the globe to discuss the future of the MENA region’s water and agricultural sectors, highlighting the required actions to continually improve efficiencies in water and food systems.
This prestigious gathering sets the tone for the year ahead with a focus on global innovation and sustainability. It will draw attention to the ongoing, long-term transformation needed to decarbonize the sector, improve water efficiency, introduce cutting-edge technologies, and secure water and food systems for future generations.
ICARDA will be represented by Dr. Vinay Nangia, Research Leader - Soil, Water, and Agronomy. He will present on “Climate-smart Drylands: Integrating Water and Food Systems for Resilience” and will also chair a panel discussion on "Democratising Ag-Tech: Bridging the Investment Gap for Farmers", focusing on GCC's ag-tech ambitions, economic viability, and making agtech more accessible in harsh climates.
