ICARDA is thrilled to announce that Dr Amit Gautam, National Associate Scientist (Durum Wheat Breeding) at ICARDA’s Food Legume Research Platform (FLRP), Amlaha, India has been honoured with the “Best Oral Presentation Award” at the 5th International Group Meeting organized by ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research Karnal (27th -29th March 2024).

ICARDA is delighted to announce that Dr. Rachid Moussadek was elected Chair of the FAO Near East and North Africa Soil Partnership (NENA) Soil Partnership in a meeting in March 2023 in Muscat, Oman. The meeting was attended by representatives of 20 member countries. Dr. Moussadek is a Systems Cropping Agronomist at ICARDA and Joint Researcher of the Moroccan Institut National de Recherche Agronomique (INRA), specializing in/focused on Sustainable Soil and Land Management

Dr. Sanjaya Rajaram, World Food Prize winner and former scientist of ICARDA and CIMMYT was awarded the Padma Bhushan award by the Government of the Republic of India. The Padma Bhushan is India’s third highest civilian honor, awarded to those who have displayed “distinguished service of a high order”. Dr. Rajaram joins the rank of nearly 1300 unique individuals who were honored for their exemplary achievements since the launch of the Padma Bhushan in 1954.
