A Mexican national, Magali, joined ICARDA as Director of Finance on 25 August 2025. She oversees Institutional Finance, Project Finance, Procurement, Risk Management, and Information Technology.
Over the course of her career, Magali has contributed to global development and sustainability efforts through leadership roles at organisations including World Vision, Greenpeace, and Bioversity International. Her work has spanned poverty reduction, environmental sustainability, and food systems transformation to advance global nutrition security.
With more than 24 years of experience across Finance, ICT, Fundraising, HR, and corporate services, Magali has spent the past 15 years serving in senior executive and C-suite leadership roles across multiple regions worldwide.
Magali holds a Global Executive MBA from the Copenhagen Business School. Beyond her professional career, she is a 2nd Dan black belt in taekwondo, a certified PADI Advanced Diver, and an avid amateur basketball player.
