It’s International Women’s Day 2021, and we’ve written a series of important questions and answers blogs in which five of our female scientists discuss openly the challenges, and opportunities they face in the agricultural research and development sector.
In their own words, they talk about their experiences as women in the sector, their battles for recognition, and how ICARDA and CGIAR support them. They also explain why promoting the work of female scientists in agricultural science, especially in dry regions, is vital to developing properly informed, people-centered innovations and initiatives that accommodate all aspects of life in the family farming communities with whom ICARDA works.
