Strengthening Knowledge Management for Greater Development Effectiveness in the Near East, North Africa, Central Asia and Europe

The project carries out knowledge management capacity assessments with participating organizations to determine the learning needs. Using this information, the project works to establish effective learning systems within organizational processes with strengthened institutional capacities to manage the systematization of good practices. This feeds into the project objectives of: improving knowledge exchanges among stakeholders based on increased adoption of good practices and knowledge transfer for increased SSTC, replication and scaling up; and fostering and promoting knowledge exchange in-country, cross-country and trans-regionally.

UPDATES

In 2020, SKiM supported the University of Khartoum in scientific poster development; created the Virtual Learning Route, which aims to build a framework of agricultural knowledge sharing in Sudan; and supported entrepreneurs in Moldova with knowledge transfer training. The project also carried out countless training sessions across the Central and West Asia, and North Africa region to improve sharing knowledge and research among organizations.

In 2021, SKiM raised the knowledge management capacities of 40 individuals representing national partners in Moldova, Morocco, and Sudan. The project also helped partner institutions navigate the many disruptions caused by COVID-19.

In 2022, national partners organized the Morocco Learning Route with the SKiM project. The best-case studies and lessons learned in Morocco were introduced as learning tools and guidelines for consultation when making interventions/programs in rural development. Gender-sensitive approaches, youth employment, family entrepreneurship, and farm-to-table approaches were incorporated as fundamental pillars of project activities in Morocco. Furthermore, a learning route to demonstrate best practices was held on June 19-26, 2022 to bring together participants from Moldova and Sudan to exchange on knowledge management-related aspects.
